Project Golden Sugar
“PIA” in the Nigerian sugar refinery is on track for success
Sugar refineries usually operate year-round. There is only a short window of time for maintenance work to be done. This means that the process reliability plays a major role. Our engineers, through a combination of extensive experience in sugar production and innovative program components, have developed and set in place a reliable process.
Thanks to the Putsch® distributed control system “PIA” (Putsch Integrated Automation), the Golden Sugar Refinery in Lagos, Nigeria no longer has to worry about such things. The machinery in the African sugar refinery runs fully automatic based on PCS7 DCS technology.
With “PIA” and the detailed engineering from Putsch® the following stations are optimally integrated into the sugar production process:
- Raw sugar melting
- Sugar drying
“PIA” is a very economical and reliable solution for a trouble-free operation of sugar refineries.
From delivery to start-up of the refinery, a Putsch® supervisor is constantly onsite and guarantees a trouble-free project execution by working together with the customer. All interfaces to the measurement and control equipment delivered by Putsch® will be monitored and checked together with the customer. After installation, Putsch® engineers will train the sugar refinery staff on-site so that the production of sugar will proceed without any problems.
“PIA” monitors and controls successfully the continuous production of sugar in Lagos since the beginning of 2013.
